Tuscany is a destination everyone has heard of. Rolling hills, vineyards, great food, Italian culture. Some may have heard of it through mountain biking, after all it hosted the very first Enduro World Series event in 2013, in Punta Alla. It's a stunning area no doubt, while not dominated by big mountains, it does have some of the very best riding we've ever experienced. Paired with that warm Italian hospitality, fantastic produce, drinks, the beach, sea, a vibe the

Tuscany is a dream destination

Our first research trips to Tuscany were eye-opening. It was not what we expected. What did we expect? We thought we were looking into an intermediate destination suited to riders who would like to do longer days in the saddle, more of a tour vibe, taking in the sights with some technical but not radical descents. We thought this tour could suit E-Bikes or regular bikes, but would offer an alternative to clients looking for a more relaxed mountain bike tour.

While Tuscany can deliver this, it has something else, proper gravity enduro mountain biking that can match literally anywhere else in Europe. No the hills are not huge, maximum elevation here for the tour we have written is around 600m. But the trail builders have made effortlessly long trails, dropping through the hills gradually, using corners and gradient to maintain flow. The trails could be janky, technical and slow, but for the most part they are not. They're natural, rocky trails that undulate, they bring flow and energy to your riding which has to be dynamic and precise to ride well.

Rock, roll and beach vibes

The riding does remind us of our first days in Finale Ligure. While not the same, the feeling is. The tight forest and multiple line choices in many for the riding zones gives a feeling of speed and intensity, the trail keeps coming and throwing things at you. When you are out of the forests the trails are open, loose and rocky, they don't let up.

As a mountain bike holiday destination, it may have been overshadowed by areas such as Finale Ligure or Aosta Valley over the years. Why do we think this is? Logisitcs and image. We think Tuscany has struggled to find it's place in the mountain bike market because it's misunderstood, and it's quite tricky to put together a program that pulls together your airport transfers, accommodation, guiding, shuttling, lunches and dinners. It has been very popular amongst mainland Europeans for years, but they holiday differently, they drive and tend to do their own thing, booking maybe afew days ona shuttle van or a pedal tour with a guide.

We ride to the coast

What we have done is what we always do, make it easy for you to book a tour, knowing as much as possible what you're going to be doing, timing your week so it works, keeping the vibes high, hitting the right trails, zones, cafes, restaurants at the right time and doing it with the right people.

We are partnered with Matteo at Tuscany Bike for tours in Tuscany. Matteo is Tuscany mountain biking. He lives and breathes it, he's built zones with his hands. He's been to councils to get permission to open zones, he knows everyone, he will be your host and guide for the week. Matteo brings infectious energy to the trails, the uplifts, the pedals and the bar afterwards. You're going to love him.

Where we love to ride in Tuscany

Punta Ala

  • A defining location in modern MTB history, Punta Ala hosted the very first Enduro World Series race in 2013. The trails here—like Rock-Oh, The Guardian, and Pian delle Sughere—are fast, natural, and scenic, weaving through pine forests above the Mediterranean. Today, Punta Ala remains a pilgrimage site for enduro riders worldwide, known for its challenging terrain and iconic views.

Piombino

  • Perched on the Etruscan Coast, Piombino’s trail network blends flow, tech, and breathtaking panoramas. Forest trails dive toward dramatic cliffs and tranquil coves. It’s a rising star for all-mountain and enduro riders, hosting the Etruscan Coast MTB Cup and offering year-round conditions with a unique seaside flavor.

Elba Island (Capoliveri Bike Park)

  • This mountainous island delivers high-alpine energy wrapped in Mediterranean charm. The Capoliveri Legend Cup, part of the UCI MTB Marathon Series, draws elite racers annually. The Capoliveri Bike Park offers a huge range of trails, from family-friendly to expert-level, with views across turquoise waters and ancient ruins.

Monti di Campiglia & Monte Calvi Trail Area

  • Tucked between Piombino and Suvereto, Monte Calvi rises steeply from the sea, offering rocky, raw trails with significant elevation change. The terrain is perfect for riders who crave natural lines, technical descents, and physical climbs. It’s one of the most authentic and challenging areas in the region, ideal for experienced enduro and trail riders.

Marra Massatima

  • An untamed backcountry zone favored by locals for its raw, natural trail network. With narrow, rooty descents and dense woodland, it’s a less-developed but wild and rewarding experience. Great for those who love riding off the beaten track.

Tuscany Coast Park

  • This modern and rapidly growing park brings together built features and natural flow, making it accessible and fun for a wide range of riders. It’s a great hub for progression—with berms, jumps, and trails that range from mellow to spicy—all against a gorgeous coastal backdrop.

Why Tuscany?

  • Diverse Terrain: From volcanic peaks and forested singletrack to cliffside flow and bike parks.
  • Mild Climate: Ride nearly year-round, with spring and autumn being especially ideal.
  • Post-Ride Paradise: Incredible food, local wine, and charming villages make every ride feel like part of a bigger story.
  • History Meets Adrenaline: Trails pass Roman ruins, medieval castles, and Etruscan paths—few places let you ride through history like this.

Whether you're an enduro racer, a trail lover, or a bikepacking explorer, Tuscany offers not just trails—but a lifestyle. With its unique mix of coastal beauty, technical terrain, and deep cultural roots, it’s a mountain bike holiday like no other. Ride the roots of history. Feel the coastal flow. Taste the trail life. This is Tuscany.
