Day 0 – Arrival
Guests will be transferred from Edinburgh to Aberdeenshire to their accommodation, where we will build the bikes, get to know each other, and head out for a 2–3 hour warm-up and ability assessment ride in the local forest. After the ride, any necessary bike adjustments will be completed so we are fully prepared for the week ahead. A welcome dinner will be taken at the local pub — a great start to the week.
This marks the beginning of the Atlas Ride Co Clan Week experience: a relaxed, fully supported journey through Scotland, following the route of the Trans Caledonia. With no pressure, no timing chips, and no start lines, Clan Week is about great riding, good company, and experiencing Scotland’s finest trails at your own pace.
Day 1 & 2 – Aberdeenshire
Day One journeys through the heart of Royal Deeside, linking famous granite-slabbed mountain trails with hidden gems tucked away in ancient pine forests. It’s big-sky riding in classic Scottish terrain, with plenty of time to soak in the landscape and settle into the rhythm of the week. Deliverance will have you shaking in your boots, and Heartbreak Ridge will make you simply fall in love with Scotland more and more every pedal stroke.
Day Two starts in Pitfichie and ends in Glenlivet, an area known for its rich mountain bike heritage and superb natural trails, but don't forget the Whisky. We pass through Tomintol, often described as the highest village in the Highlands at around 345m above sea level and the perfect destination for a wee dram. Expect epic riding, memorable venues and a true point-to-point journey as we edge closer to the Highlands. With Atlas Ride Co’s support team handling logistics, you can simply focus on the ride and the experience.
Day 3 – Highlands
Laggan sits in the heart of the Highlands, surrounded by dramatic peaks and vast open landscapes. Munros rise in every direction while the River Spey flows from the Monadhliath Mountains, creating a spectacular setting for a day on the bike.
The trails here offer a mix of gritty, technical sections and flowing singletrack, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Orca, Tomb Stone and Honey Monster are incredible trails set in one of Scotland's finest trail centres. With man-made and natural terrain and a view to die for, this location ticks some serious Scotland bucket lists. The now-famous Laggan “Wolftrax” name comes from the area's historical connection to wolves, which once roamed the Highlands. Keep your eyes peeled.
Day 4 – Perthshire
The picturesque town of Dunkeld is framed by Perthshire’s towering forests, home to some of Scotland’s biggest trees. With its old stone bridge spanning the River Tay, the setting feels calm and timeless.
The trails surrounding the village are among the best in Scotland, rocky, rooty and beautifully natural. They reward focus and good line choice, but Clan Week gives you the freedom to ride them your way. Take your time, support each other, and enjoy the depth and character that make Dunkeld such a special destination. We finish by the river for a pint in the Scottish sunshine (rain) and relax after a serious day on the trails.
Day 5 & 6 – Scottish Borders
No Scottish mountain bike journey would be complete without the iconic trails of the Tweed Valley. These forests along the River Tweed have shaped the country’s riding scene for decades and remain some of the finest trails anywhere in the UK.
Two big days in the Borders bring the week to a close, packed with classic descents, flowing sections and plenty of shared moments on the hill. We’ll ride the very best of the Tweed Valley before finishing with a celebration meal and a wee dram or two — a chance to reflect on the week, the landscapes we’ve travelled through, and the friendships formed along the way.
TRAVEL
Included in the price is all your travel whilst on the trip with us in Scotland, including collection and drop off from Edinburgh.
If you are flying into the UK and travelling to us by public transport, there are great rail links to Edinburgh.
ABILITY ACCESSOR
- Advised bike - 140mm - 170mm Enduro bike *
- Fitness - 3*
- Skills and Technical ability - 3*
- Riding Style - All Natural / Spirit of Adventure
The riding standard and fitness level required to ride the Clan Weeks is of a high intermediate/advanced standard. This is not only for your enjoyment and personal safety, but it is also for the group as a whole. The riding can be technical and challenging so your ability should be suited to the trip.
TRAIL ETIQUETTE
We need to do our bit! 7 - 14 mountain bikers will be pretty conspicuous and we’ll have some impact on the landscape and other trail users. As a company, we’re 100% committed to minimising our impact in every way we can. We operate a strict ‘pack it out’ policy for all litter (including banana skins and orange peel), and we try to leave as little trace of our passing as possible.
While we’ll enjoy some epic descents and trails, please ride in control and at a speed that reflects your line of sight and abilities. We’ll certainly meet walkers and we want any interactions to be as positive as possible. It’s important to give mountain bikers a good name.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is essential and a required part of your booking process that you have holiday insurance in place for your trip that covers against medical and personal accidents and all the activities, including mountain biking you will take part in.
We have worked with Yellow Jersey Cycle insurance for the past 3 years now and feel they offer the perfect Travel and Bike insurance package. All Atlas Ride Co clients also receive a 10% discount on their Mountain Bike and Travel policies. Your discount code will be in your booking confirmation.
REVIEWS
Absolutely brilliant experience. The accommodation and food was spot on for both quality and the location. Bike security and facilities for wash and repair was excellent. Our guide, Mike Wilkes couldn't have done a better job of informing and including all the riders in our group. The routes ticked all the boxes and the trails and views will be memories to last a lifetime. Bought the ticket, had a great ride.

What an amazing few days riding!!!
This had everything from big mountain ascents, descents, and ridgelines to local hidden trails.
Secret bothys and river crossings all added to the experience.
The accommodation was fantastic and had everything you needed from bike storage, charging and cleaning facilities!! The rooms and particularly the breakfasts were amazing and left you fuelled up for the big rides ahead.
The guides were very knowledgeable, funny and helpful with particular sections of trails.
My eyes and neck also got a very good workout as the scenery is just unreal.
Highly recommended and would certainly be doing this again.

Just home from the Tweed Valley Enduro Long Weekend with MTB Beds. Wow what a weekend. Epic riding, superb guides, great accommodation and some more epic riding. A superb intro to the Tweed Valley and the riding on offer at Glentress, The Golfie and Innerleithen. Rich and The MTB Beds team are superb - helpful, knowledgeable and responsive and Murray and the Team at Glentress Hotel were brilliant. Thoroughly recommended.

I have just got back from a week at Chalet Chappelle in Morzine and I was blown away by the MTB Beds experience and their team. It is insane value for money when you consider the quality of accommodation, food and facilities. Everybody there was super friendly and full of useful local knowledge and positive energy. The whole holiday was very slick and well run and it helped us all to have an awesome time. I will certainly be coming back to MTB Beds for my next trip. Ben
