pass'portes du soleil

27th - 29th June 2025: Pass'Portes Du Soleil

Pass'Portes Du Soleil is the ultimate celebration of mountain biking in Morzine and the surrounding area! With a course passing through in 12 resorts over 2 countries (including Morzine, Les Gets, Chatel & Champery) with 80km of distance and 5700m of vertical descending (utilising approx 15 chair lifts for climbing), this is one hell of an event to take part in.

Oh, and the 8,000 yearly participants have eaten over 7 tonnes of Abondance cheese since 2004!

Want to take part in Pass'Portes Du Soleil? The event is open to MTBs, E-MTBs and Gravel bikes, plus hikers too, so it really is for everyone! For those looking to tackle the MTB )or E-MTB) course, we recommend a solid enduro bike, with 150mm+ of suspension travel front and rear, good DH tyres and a dropper post.

You'll also want somewhere comfortable to stay of course! Check out our catered chalets in Morzine so you can rest and fuel up on professionally cooked food, perfect to get you through the big day on the bike.

4th - 6th July 2025: Spartan Ultra World Championship & Trifecta Weekend

"Spartan's Ultimate Challenge" returns to Morzine for Europe's biggest Spartan event of the season! The Ultra 50km, 60 obstacle event might grab all the headlines, with competitors scaling Point De Nyon plus navigating climbing walls, swimming while dragging logs and hiking natural technical terrain - with an average duration of 8hr's - but there are 6 categories in total, with Sprint 5km, Beast 21km and a Kids Race all on offer.

The course isn't all out on the mountains, with plenty of obstacles dotted around the town of Morzine, the perfect spot for spectators to cheer on from the sidelines!

Les Gets Wild Cup is a Wild Weekend

21st - 31st August 2025: UCI Downhill, XC and Enduro World Cup, Les Gets

The mad-house circus that is the UCI Downhill World Cup will once again roll into Les Gets*, bringing with it the fastest racers in the world, a festival atmosphere and late-night street parties that have to be seen to be believed. A true favourite of all the riders, the famous Les Gets DH race track on Mont Chery is iconic, with a fast open section to start, before riders dive into the rooty, technical woods, with off-cambers, steeps and blown-out turns, the track offers a true test of riders. Lower down the track, riders emerge into a technical open area, navigating stumps and drops, watched on by a manic crowd, before a flat-out section across the lower slopes of Mont Chery before they arrive at a packed out finish line area - stand well back if you don't want to join the rush of the finish line area once the final rider passes...

It's more than just the UCI Downhill in Les Gets though, with Enduro & XC also taking place over a 10-day festival from August 21st - 31st 2025. The events are expected to take place all across the Haute Savoie region, last year with Enduro being held in Châtel.

*At time of writing, the event is only confirmed as Haute Savoie Region, but it is very, very likely that the DH will once again be on Mont Chery in Les Gets.

3rd - 7th September 2025: UCI Downhill World Championships, Champery Switzerland

The second major MTB event in Portes Du Soleil this summer is the UCI Downhill World Championships, taking place a short ride away in Champery, Switzerland, easily accessed via the massive lift network. Famed for it's super steep and technical race track, Champery is widely known for Danny Hart's iconic winning run in the rain of 2011 - STAYYY ON YER BIKE DANNYYY - and Sam Hill's Champery race run in 2007, narrowly missing out on the win.

Champery hosted the European Championships in 2024 as a test run prior to this years World Championships, and after the success of the European Champs, we can't wait to witness the worlds best tear down the steeps of Champery again - will we get another Champery race make it's way into the history books?!

The Mont Blanc rally offers spectators up close vantage points to incredible technique, speed and pin-point accuracy, all with a beautiful backdrop of the French alps and Mont Blanc towering overhead. There are lots of stages each day near Morzine, offering plenty of vantage points that are easy enough to access from the town. Open to classic and high spec modern rally cars, this is heaven for petrol heads, as the town square has thousands of cars on display, plus the pit area where you can watch the lightening quick mechanics swap out wheels, bumpers and anything that might get broken during the action!

Summer 2026 - Morzine Harley Days

Harley Days is having a year off in 2025, but we expect this event will be back in Summer 2026. This massively popular event sees Morzine transform into a bikers heaven, with streets filled with the sights and sounds of Harley-Davidson's, plus live music into the night.
