Turbo Levo 29er - 565 watts | 25kph | 90nm Torque | 4 x Rider Input

Specialized designed the Turbo Levo to be a proper trail bike, first and foremost. It takes geo, kinematics, and design cues from their newest trail bikes, like the Stumpjumper, and adds industry-leading tech that gives you the power to ride more trails. New motor? Check. New battery? Check, Incredibly lightweight and capable chassis? Check and double-check.

The Turbo Levo delivers up to 5 hours of ride time. What’s more, the Smart Control feature in the Mission Control app can automatically manage the Turbo Levo’s assist level to ensure you’ll have enough power to ride as far, or for as long, as you like. Bottom line—you don’t need to worry about getting caught on the trail without enough juice to get you home.

Danny Milner - MBR

"We’ve lost count of how many great rides we’ve had on various Turbo Levos over the last couple of years, and it was no different on this 2021 Comp model. The sheer grunt of the Brose/Specialized 2.1 motor is completely addictive, and still out-runs the others every time in a drag race or hillclimb. The trouble is, once you’ve tried it in Turbo it’s really difficult to drop it back into Trail, especially with that big battery to boost the range. And the slick Misson Control app lets you easily tune the characteristics of the motor and create a custom mode if you want to balance out power with range. You can also choose to run it with or without the handlebar remote, as the app and simple top tube interface lets you control everything if you crave a minimal look".

Frequently asked questions

Are the hire e-bikes set up with flat pedals or clipless?

Just let us know your preference when you book and we'll set the bike up accordingly, whether that's flats or your own clipless pedals fitted on. Most of our guests ride flats out here given the mix of terrain, but we're happy to accommodate whatever you're most comfortable and confident riding.

Can I hire a battery if I'm bringing my own e-bike?

Yes, if you're travelling out with your own Specialized e-bike we can arrange battery rental so you're not stuck trying to fly with one or source a compatible spare locally. Just flag it when you book so we can have one ready for you alongside whatever else you need for the trip.

Can I switch between different power modes while I'm riding?

Yes, the Turbo Levo gives you four rider input modes to choose from, so you can back the assistance right off when you want a proper leg workout or a bit more control on technical terrain, then wind it up again for the long fire road climbs. It's a quick switch on the move, so you're not stopping the bike every time you want to change how much help you're getting.

Do I need my own insurance to hire an e-MTB from you?

Yes, you'll need an insurance policy in place before you can take a bike out, whether that's cover through your holiday insurance or a dedicated bike policy. A lot of our guests go with Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance, and if you use our code MTB75 when you book with them you'll get 15% off your policy, which makes it a pretty easy box to tick.

Do I need to charge the bike myself during my stay?

No, you don't need to worry about charging at all while you're with us. Your Turbo Levo goes out each morning topped up and ready to ride, and our in-resort team takes care of getting it back to full charge overnight, so all you need to think about is which trail you're riding next.

Do you provide helmets and protective gear, or do I need to bring my own?

Helmets are provided completely free of charge with every hire, so that's one less thing to pack. If you want knee, arm or body armour we can sort that for you too at €10 per item, and we've also got Five Ten Impact Pro riding shoes available to hire at €20 a pair if you'd rather not travel with your own flat pedal shoes.

How does payment and the deposit work for e-bike hire?

We take a 30% deposit to secure your booking, and the remaining balance is due when you collect the bikes out here in resort. You can settle up by card, bank transfer or cash, whatever's easiest for you.

How far in advance should I book e-bike hire for Finale Ligure?

We'd always recommend booking as early as you can once your travel dates are confirmed, particularly if you're coming out in peak season, since we only have a set number of Turbo Levos available at any one time. A 30% deposit locks your bikes in for your exact dates, with the balance not due until you're actually here collecting them.

How far will the battery actually get me on the trails?

Specialized's Smart Control system manages the power delivery for you and gets you up to around five hours of ride time, which for most of our guests covers a full day out exploring the Finale Ligure trail network without needing to think about it. Smart Control automatically adjusts the assist based on the terrain and how much riding you've got left to do, so it's genuinely doing the thinking for you rather than you having to guess which mode to run. If you're doing back-to-back big days we'd always suggest chatting to our team about your planned route so we can talk you through pacing the battery.

Is e-MTB hire in Finale Ligure similar to what you offer in Morzine?

It is, we run the same Specialized Turbo Levo platform across both destinations, so the bike, the hire process and the gear you get with it will feel familiar if you've hired with us before in Morzine. What changes is the terrain, with Finale Ligure's mix of coastal trails and hinterland climbs offering a different flavour of riding to the Alps, but the bike underneath you is doing the same job either way.

Is Finale Ligure e-bike hire only for guided trips, or can I ride independently?

Both are on the table. Plenty of our guests hire a Turbo Levo purely to explore independently at their own pace, while others join one of our guided MTB holidays out here and use the e-bike hire alongside that, which is a great way to cover more ground and hit more of the trail network in the days you've got. Either way the bike, gear and support from our in-resort team is the same.

Is Finale Ligure e-MTB hire suitable for the terrain around here, or is it more of a road-riding assist?

The Turbo Levo is genuinely built for exactly the kind of riding Finale Ligure is famous for. With 150mm of travel at both ends it'll happily soak up the rockier, more technical descents down towards the coast, while the extra assistance from the motor makes the long hinterland climbs up into the hills far more manageable so you've got legs left for the fun stuff on the way down. It's a proper trail bike with a motor bolted on, not a commuter e-bike dressed up for the trails.

Is the Turbo Levo suitable for someone who isn't a confident mountain biker?

The extra assistance from the motor genuinely opens Finale Ligure up to a wider range of riders, since it takes the sting out of the climbing and means you can save your energy for focusing on the technical sections rather than being wrecked before you even get to the top. That said it's still a proper mountain bike on proper mountain bike terrain, so some trail riding experience will help you get the most out of it and stay safe on the descents. If you're newer to it, our team can point you towards the more forgiving routes to build your confidence.

What do I need to bring with me to collect the bike?

We'll need a form of ID and a credit card number from you, which we hold for the duration of your hire rather than charging anything upfront beyond your deposit. It's just standard practice for e-bike hire given the value of the bikes, and it gets handed straight back when everything's returned in good order.

What does e-MTB hire actually cost in Finale Ligure?

Our Turbo Levo hire starts at £160 for two days, £235 for three days, £310 for four days and £385 for five days, with a full week working out at £450. If you decide you want to keep the bike an extra day once you're out here, that's an additional £60 on top.

What e-bike do you actually put people on for e-MTB hire in Finale Ligure?

We hire out the Specialized Turbo Levo 29er, set up with 150mm of travel front and rear, which is exactly the kind of bike you want for the mix of flowing singletrack and rougher, rockier descents you get around here. It runs a 565-watt motor with 90Nm of torque and four rider input modes, so you can dial the assistance right back on the flatter fire road sections and open it right up when a climb kicks up. It's the same Turbo Levo platform we run for our e-MTB hire over in Morzine too, so if you've ridden with us there before you'll know exactly what you're getting on.

What happens if I crash and damage the bike?

You're responsible for any damage caused to the bike beyond normal wear and tear, which is standard across pretty much any bike hire but obviously more relevant when you're riding a bike with an expensive motor and battery system in it. Any repair costs get sorted before we hand your passport back at the end of the trip, so there's no chasing invoices after you've gone home. It's exactly why we recommend sorting proper insurance beforehand rather than hoping for the best.

What if something goes wrong with the bike while I'm out on a ride?

Our team is based in resort throughout your stay, so if you run into any mechanical issues while you're out riding, get in touch and we'll sort it as quickly as we can. It's part of why we keep our hire fleet local rather than sending bikes out from a warehouse somewhere else, so support is always close at hand.

What sizes do you have available, and how do I get sized up?

Just let us know your height when you book and we'll have the right size Turbo Levo ready and waiting for you on collection day. If anything doesn't feel quite right once you're on it, our team in resort will happily adjust the setup or swap things around before you head out, so you're not stuck riding something that doesn't fit.

What's the torque and power actually like on these e-bikes?

The Turbo Levo's motor puts out 565 watts with 90Nm of torque, capped at 25kph assistance in line with EU e-bike regulations. In practice that means genuinely strong support on steep hinterland climbs without ever feeling like the bike is doing all the work for you on the flat or the descents, where you're riding it just like any other trail bike.
