Spain (28)

Are e-bikes a good option in Spain?
Yes. Spain is an outstanding e-MTB destination because many of the best trails are reached by climbs, fire roads or long natural links. An e-bike allows you to ride further, link more descents and enjoy bigger days without losing the adventure.
Are Spanish MTB holidays guided?
Yes. Our Spanish holidays are guided by experienced local riders who know the trails, weather, terrain and best route combinations. Guiding is especially valuable in Spain because many of the best trails are natural, remote and difficult to link together without local knowledge.
Are the trails busy?
Usually, no. One of the best things about riding in Spain is how quiet the trails can be. Compared with places like Morzine or Finale Ligure, you will often ride incredible singletrack without seeing many other riders.
Are your Spain holidays suitable for private groups?
Yes. Spain works extremely well for private groups. We can often tailor dates, accommodation, guiding and riding style around your group, whether you want an e-MTB adventure, enduro tour or big mountain singletrack trip.
Can I hire a bike in Spain?
Yes. Bike hire is available on selected Spanish tours. Availability can be limited during busy periods, so we strongly recommend booking your hire bike well in advance.
Can non-riding partners come on a Spain MTB holiday?
It depends on the tour. Some Spanish destinations work well for non-riders thanks to historic towns, cafés, hiking and local culture. Other tours move between remote riding areas and are more focused on the riding, so it is best to check before booking.
Can solo riders join your Spain holidays?
Yes. Solo riders are welcome on many scheduled Spain departures, provided the minimum group size is reached. Guided group tours are a great way to meet like-minded riders and experience the best trails without organising everything yourself.
Do I need mountain bike insurance for Spain?
Yes. You should have comprehensive mountain bike travel insurance. Your policy should cover mountain biking, medical treatment, mountain rescue, personal injury, bike damage or theft and trip cancellation. A health card alone is not a replacement for proper insurance.
Is Spain expensive for a mountain bike holiday?
Spain generally offers excellent value compared with many Alpine destinations. Food, drinks and restaurants are often more affordable than France, Switzerland or Canada, while the quality of riding and hospitality is outstanding.
Is Spain good for mountain biking?
Absolutely. Northern Spain has become one of Europe’s most exciting mountain bike regions, especially for riders who enjoy natural enduro trails rather than machine-built bike parks. The riding is varied, technical, scenic and often much quieter than better-known Alpine destinations.
Is Spain suitable for beginners?
Most Atlas Ride Co holidays in Spain are not aimed at complete beginners. The terrain is generally natural, rocky and technical, so riders should already have some mountain bike experience. If you are newer to mountain biking, Morzine may be a better first holiday before progressing to Spain.
Is Spain suitable for intermediate riders?
Yes, Spain is brilliant for confident intermediate riders. You should be comfortable riding technical red-grade trails and have some experience on rocky or natural terrain. If you are happy riding longer descents, loose surfaces and technical sections, Spain will be an incredible place to progress.
Is the riding uplift assisted?
Some of it is, depending on the tour. Certain days use uplift vehicles to maximise descending, while others involve pedalling or e-MTB assistance to access the best trails. Spain is less about endless bike park laps and more about linking together the best natural riding in each area.
Is there much climbing?
It depends on the holiday. Some tours include regular uplift support, while others involve big mountain days with significant climbing. On our e-MTB tours, the bikes make the climbs much more manageable and allow you to access even more incredible trails.
What bike should I bring to Spain?
A modern enduro bike is the best choice for most Spanish mountain bike holidays. We recommend 140–170mm suspension, modern geometry, strong brakes, tubeless tyres and robust enduro or downhill casing tyres. Your bike should be fully serviced before travel.
What equipment should I bring?
You should bring normal enduro riding kit, including a helmet, knee pads, gloves, eye protection, hydration pack, waterproof jacket, spare tube, pump, tyre levers, multi-tool and sun cream. A full-face or detachable chin-bar helmet is recommended for many of our Spanish tours.

It depends on the destination: Geneva for Morzine and Les Gets, Nice for Finale Ligure and Molini. Each destination and holiday page lists the recommended airport — if in doubt, ask us before booking your flights.

Which airport transfer routes do you cover?

Our own fleet covers Geneva to Morzine and Nice to Finale Ligure, plus local runs such as Morzine to Les Gets. If we can't run your route ourselves, we work with trusted partners in every area and will find the transfer you need.

Who is Skiidy Gonzales?

Skiidy Gonzales is our Geneva–Morzine transfer partner since 2012, trusted with our clients, their bikes and their families every season. If you book a Morzine holiday, you'll receive a partner booking link with your confirmation at a price exclusive to our clients.

Bike Hire (8)

Can I hire an e-bike?

Yes. Premium e-MTB hire is available at selected destinations, including Specialized Turbo Levo models, all professionally maintained. See our E-MTB Rental page or ask us when booking.

Can I hire protective kit as well?

Yes. We carry protective kit to rent and test from Fox Head, plus footwear from Five Ten, so you can travel light and still ride fully protected.

How do I book a hire bike?

Book your rental bike directly with us when you book your holiday. Availability is limited, so we strongly recommend reserving your bike well in advance.

What hire bikes do you offer?

We run a full fleet of Specialized Enduro mountain bikes for rent and demo — arguably the best rental bikes in Morzine, Aosta and Finale Ligure. Every bike comes fully equipped with RockShox suspension and finishing kit from our partners at OneUp Components.

What sizes are available?

The hire fleet ranges from Small to Extra Large, covering most riders. Let us know your height when booking and our mechanic will have the right bike ready for you.

Where is bike hire available?

Our hire fleet operates in Morzine, the Aosta Valley and Finale Ligure. If you're joining us at another destination, we can usually arrange premium bike hire through trusted local partners — just ask when booking.

Who can hire a bike from Atlas Ride Co?

Our rental bikes are available exclusively to Atlas Ride Co holiday customers, so the fleet stays in top condition and is always available for our guests.

Will the bike be set up for me?

Yes. Our in-house bike mechanic sets up every rental bike for your weight, riding style and the rugged alpine trails you'll be riding — suspension, cockpit and tyre pressures dialled before you arrive.
